plumbing kitchen sink

My mother is away on holiday,I'm doing up her kitchen as a surprise and she needs a new sink fitted, I've never fitted a sink before but am willing to give it a go, I've seen a bathroom sink being fitted using flexipipe, looks quite easy, is it similar to fitting a bathroom sink? is it better to use flexipipe? I looked in DIY shops for leaflets on plumbing a sink but no joy, If I can do it myself instead of paying someone to do it then great, any basic guidelines on how to do it would be much appreciated
