moving toilet

need to move toilet about 6 inches because of new shower stall. can i move drain? is it possible

Yes, you should be able to move a toilet flange and closet bend over about 6" with no major problems.
It should be centered 12" out from the finished wall, unless you have the 10" type toilet base.
Hopefully, it is over a basement or crawlspace where it will be easier to get to the closet bend pipe.
What type of drain pipe do you have? PVC white plastic? ABS black plastic? Cast iron?
You can cut the pipe, and splice in new connections, either with Fernco couplings, no-hub couplings or glued couplings.
