Small middle hole for 3 hole bathroom sink

Hello,

I am trying to replace the faucet on an old bathroom sink. The problem is that the middle hole of the 3 holes in the sink is only 1/2 inch in diameter.

When I try and install a new faucet, the rod for the pop-up thing does not align with the small center hole. I'm guessing most new sinks have a larger diameter for the middle hole.

Anyone know where I could find a faucet where the rod to the pop-up stopper will align correctly with this small middle in the sink?

Thanks a ton for any help,

Matt

I bet I have installed 300 sinks in my life, and I have seen that problem ONE time... I went in to do a routine replacement and spent the rest of the day coming up with a solution to fit the sink... I ended up with a Moen 2 handle valve from Lowes... I also found an American Standard 2 handle but the design was not as nice... Just take a good measurement or create a little cardboard template and take it with you to the Lowe's or HD faucet display wall and try them all until you find one...
