Why on second flush??

I have a somewhat odd situation with one of my toilets, and I'm sure it's an easy fix . . . but not easy enough for me to figure out.

When I flush my toilet the first time, the waste water doesn't go down the pipe. It doesn't back up however, but it also doesn't do that "gurgle" when all the water goes down the pipe.

The weird thing is after the tank water fills back up with water, if I flush again, I get a complete flush.

Any ideas on what is causing this and solution(s) on how to fix it would be duly appreciated.

Thanks!

Yep, sounds like the fill valve is not working like it should, lift the tank let, see that small tube that hooks or is inside the overflow tube on the flushvalve, there must be plenty of flow passing though it.

This is what fills the toilet boml to it's operating level after each flush.

If there is very little flow to no flow, or that small tube is not even there, install a new fluidmaster whice wil revive your toilet back to the way it once was.
