Garbage Disposal Geyser

When I run the garbage disposal (left compartment of sink), a geyser of water & food come up through the drain hole in the right compartment of the sink. The disposal drain and the right sink drain are attached by two L-shaped pipes. Should I try to install a J-shaped pipe under the disposal to help the situation? Any other advice? Thanks!

Cool

You have a blockage in the sink trap or drain pipe.
Put a bucket or large pan under the horizontal "j-shaped" trap to catch the water, and remove the trap to clear it of any obstruction.
If the trap is clear, you will need to snake the drain pipe with a crank-handle flexible plumber's snake to clear the drain line.
Good Luck!
