Question faucet adapter

O.k, here's the deal. I bought a Brita water filter for my apartment's kitchen sink and the adapters that came with it to attatch it to the faucet are all too small. Whoever lived here before me took the original aerator off the faucet so I have no way to take it off and take it to a store to be properly measured. So I measured its diameter by hand and it is about 1 inch in diameter with the threats on the outside meaning that the adapter to fit it would have to be a female piece. Then the brita filter itself would need to be connected and it has a diameter of about 14/16 of an inch but would need a male piece to fit into it. Does this company here have anything like that, or does anyone know of a place that might???

Take your Brita filter with you and see if a plumbing supply house or big box store can find a fine-thread 1" female-to-7/8"male adapter that will work for you.
Good Luck!
