Adding a new bathroom. 2nd floor. Help.

Hello all,

The new bathroom will have a soaker tub, two sinks, a separate shower and a toilet.

First, can I run one hot and one cold supply up to the second
floor and branch out to each fixture from there? Or, do I need
to run more than one of each?

Second, what diameter should the supply line(s) be?

Last, can I tie all of the individual drains into one main and
run it vertically down the walls, into the basement, and then
horizontally connect it into the main stack? With the appropriate slop, of course. Or, will I need several drains running down?

Thank you for your help.

You can run one hot and one cold supply line up to the bathroom and branch out from there. Size depends on how large of a pipe you will be tapping into, and how far the run is. 1/2" lines should work just fine, unless you are looking at very long runs to the new bathroom.

You should be able to tie all of the drains together and then run them down the wall. Check with your local bldg. dept. first to make sure. And, you should be able to tie all of the vents together in the attic and only run one vent out the roof. Again though, check with your local bldg. dept. to make sure.
