Question Leaky union between stainless pipe and PVC

My Maxiflo heat exchanger (for the hot tub) was initially plumbed with 1 1/2" stainless. Once the stainless runs go out of the house, they're joined with pvc. The union is leaking pretty badly and I was wondering what the best approach for fixing the leak would be. Thanks!!!

Cool

Is it leaking from the union istself or the threaded ends of the union?
Use teflon tape and/or pipe dope on the threaded fittings.
If the union is leaking, take it apart, clean it and align it, and re-tighten it.
Good Luck!

Thanks. I'll give that a try tonight. The leak is definitely coming from the threads. My worry is that the joint is frozen but I'll re-post if that's the case...

Thumbs up

Pulled it all apart; cleaned the threads; wrapped a bit of teflon tape and re-threaded. Worked great! Seems that the original install was cross threaded and force fit.

Thanks for the help!!
