garbage disposal help

My brother in law was so kind as to install a new garbage disposal for me. Ever since he did, whenever I run the dishwasher, the water shoots out of the overflow outlet. I've checked the hoses to make sure they are attached to the disposal correctly and they are. What could be the problem, and what do I need to do to fix it?

Thank you so much for your help.

Cool

Easy fix.
There is a knock-out plug on the disposal that apparently wasn't removed.
Detach the dishwasher drain hose from the disposal, and knock it out with a screwdriver and hammer.
With the power to the disposal off, remove the knocked out plug from inside the disposal.
Should solve the problem of water shooting out of the air gap.
Good Luck!
Mike
