Another Water Heater Noise

Hey guys, I've flushed my 4-year old gas water heater twice and still have a little rumble when it's heating...no big deal.

What I don't understand is a loud, but brief, whooshing type noise anytime a faucet is turned on or a toilet is flushed. Any suggestions? Sometimes it also makes very faint high pitched whistling noises, almost like a whistling tea pot. No leaks though (that I can see or feel). I'm thinking that there is air trapped somewhere in the system.

Thanks.
