Faucet on/off valves

I know sink faucet valves come in cold and hot versions, but isn't the only difference the fact that the hot turns on counter clockwise and the cold clockwise? Reason I ask, we prefer just the opposite, and would like to use cold valve for hot side, so we have clockwise turn on. Thanks, Phil.

Cool

O.K. Just turn off the water and reverse them.

Thanks OldGuy. Could not imagine that they would make the valves differently, except for the turn on/off threads. Appreciate your fast and helpful response.
