sewer line diagnostic?

Wondering if anyone has a list of hints/troubleshooting techniques to check for sewer line leaks/breaks/etc. There is a slight "valley" running accross our yard which has been slowly deepening over the past 18 months that we've owned our c.1905 home. We recently had our ancient water main finally crumble, and now are worried about the sewer line doing the same.

you mean send you a video of the yard? or get someone to snake a video down the sewer line?

if it's the latter, what would we be looking for...and who would do it?

Some companies have video equipment to look into you sewer line, look in yellow pages for plumbers that can do this.

Start by calling the local sewer authority or company. Many times they have the equipment to televise your lateral and sometimes they will do it for free cause they have an interest in keeping rainwater out of their collection system. A collapsed lateral will allow a lot of infiltration during a rain event even though its a couple of feet below the surface.
