Hot Shower Faucet Too Tight!

I have noticed over the past week that my hot faucet in the shower has become increasingly difficult to turn. It is to the point now where it is almost impossible to turn. I took the handle off, and tried to lubricate the valve with some WD40, but it didn't seem to do anything. Do I need to replace the whole catridge? Is this normal for a hot water faucet? Why is my cold water faucet not a problem? I do have hard water in my area, and do not have a softener.

Thanks for your help! Any response would be appreciated!

Sounds like you have a stem or cartrigde that has an o-ring.The o-ring has came loose and is caught between the stem shaft and the barrel.Remove stem or cartridge and pull out center stem and replace.
