dishwasher w/no water...

Well, we bought a dishwasher thinking we had everything ready and available to install it. There's a drain for a dishwasher, but the guy that was installing it said that the pipe underneath the sink doesn't produce water (and since he wasn't a technician, he didn't know what to do). It's just a pipe sticking out of a wall, but it looks like all I'd have to do is install something to turn it on. I don't know if this makes any sense, and I really don't know how to better describe it. I'm hoping you can help me do this myself. Any info is appreciated. Thanks!

Good chance old line has been disconnected.Your best bet would probably be just hooking into the hot water supply going to the sink faucet.
