Unhappy kitchen sink lock nut

Am trying to replace the strainer in my kitchen sink and the locknut WILL NOT BUDGE. I have tried everything I can think of, (I do not have a wrench large enough to encompass it and twist it off and don't want to buy something I will never use again)
I have used a hammer and screwdriver to loosen it with someone up top applying the leverage, nada. Have tried both left and right maneuvers and nothing is breaking it loose, even put some WD40 around it. Zip, zilch, nothing is moving.
Short of wrecking my whole stainless steel sink, I am ready to explode with frustration.
HELP, I need advice "yesterday" ;-). Many thanks for your input

Cool

Hacksaw it off, and replace it.
Good Luck!
