Unhappy the ever leaking faucet

In a bathroom sink with a Delta faucet (two knobs and spout all in one piece), it drips.

I took the knobs off, took the valves out and went to Lowes and got replacement valves. Put them in and reassembled everthing. It still drips.

At this point, I don't know what to do. I would have thought that replacing the old valves would have solved the problem.

Any suggestions?

Cool

Did you check the seats that the valve washers seal against down in the faucet body for corrossion?
If it's a compression faucet, youmay be abnle to replace or dress the seats.

Under the valve stems are little pieces of rubber with springs inside them. Replace these with more Delta parts. Sometimes, it doesn't look like there are little rubber pieces there, but they really are there.

More questions, ask away and someone will help you out.

OldGuy: It is a compression faucet. But I didn't check the seats (not that I would even know what to check for). What do I do?

notuboo: The rubber thingies and the springs came with the new valves and I installed them as well.

Cool

Here is Delta's customer service site:
http://www.deltafaucet.com/custserv/faucet_repair.html
Find your faucet, and let us know what you have. I have several single-handle Delta ball faucets with seats-and-springs, but not a dual handle.
