Question regarding Automatic Vents

I've seen a few people on this board say they are going to use an automatic vent (Studor Valve) to vent their Sewage Ejector pump basin. It seems to me that the automatic vent would not work for this application. The vent only allows air to move one way, ie into the tank when it is being emptied by the pump. What happens to the air inside the tank when it is being filled by the flushing of the toilet, etc? Doesn't it have to exit out of the vent to make room for the sewage? If a one way vent is installed, this would prevent the air from escaping, wouldn't it?

Yes, the air would be trapped.

I think this is why most codes have this application vented only to an outside air source.

More questions, ask away and someone will answer them for you.
