cpvc glue on pvc

First time here with a question,
I used cpvc "gold" glue on pvc drain pipe by accident and was wondering if it is ok or do I have to cut it all out and start over?
All your help is greatly appreciated,
Thanks,
Doug

The glue does not have the chemical properties in it to correctly bond the material.

Wait 24 hours and see if glue bonded the joint but pvc glue and cleaner goes with pvc pipe.

Did you use a primer before glueing these joints?

Doug,

You said "drain pipe", which implys no pressure. If that is the case, it will probably work fine. If it is not leaking, don't fix it!!!

Primer is necessary to prepare the bonding of the two plastics together. That step is crucial for pvc piping. I believe that the flowguard gold glue contains both and priming is not necessary.

If I am wrong on that statement, in regards to flowguard being two in one, someone PLEASE correct me. I don't mess with plastic piping hardly at all on the water side and I am always replacing the flowguard glue on my truck since it sits and never gets used.
