Water Heater Pan

I am installing a 50gal electric water heater, and need to put it in a water heater pan. The standard 24" pans from Home Depot come with a 1" female plastic coupling. I'm going to be connecting this to an existing 3/4" male copper connector. (I am in a condo, and the only way to get to the outside is via the existing PRT line that goes down through the wall.)

How do I connect the 1" female fitting to the 3/4" male copper fitting?

Question

Forgive me for asking what could be a dumb follow-up question...but...does this bushing have a copper side to it and a PVC side to it. I can't figure out how to convert the PVC side to the copper side.

Get a 1" pvc slip bushing x 3/4 female reducer fitting, flue it in and you now have a place to connect the 3/4 copper male adapter into.
