I can't get wet

Please help me! When I pull up the diverter to turn the tub to shower, more than half the water is still coming out of the tub faucet. This installation is only 3 years old and running around to get wet is not an option....Is there an easy fix or should I call a professional?

Cool

If you have a tub spout diverter, just replace the tub spout. You can get what is called a one-size-fits-all, and just follow the directions.
Check underneath it for a slot and a recessed set screw. If there is no slot, ithe spout will just unscrew off of a male threaded pipe fitting from the wall.
Wrap 2-3 flat wraps of teflon tape clockwise only around the male threads of that fitting, and tighten the new diverter spout back on.
Good Luck!

Thanks, Mike, I figured there was a set screw in there, but wasn't sure. Standing on your head in the bath tub makes me dizzy, I saw the slot and screw hole when I held a mirror under there before I asked my question. But I was afraid to get the "tools"out and tear something up.

Thanks again, and have a great evening!
