Unhappy Noisy toilet plumbing

This problem started gradually with the toilet plumbing making one noise - it groaned. Now, after a few months, whenever the toilet is flushed, the groan starts, then a higher pitched groan, then followed by a lower one, then higher.

It sounds like a tugboat or ship horn.

What is causing this and how can it be fixed?

Cool

Just a faulty toilet tank water valve. Easy fix.
Get a Fluidmaster 400A float-cup type toilet water valve (about $5-$7 bucks), and just follow the directions that come with it.
Should solve all of the moaning and groaning.
Good Luck!
