Air Chamber placement

All I have left to do to complete my laundry room remodel is to complete the water supply risers to the laundry box, but I would like to toss in some air chambers to help with knocking.

I happen to have two 1/2" x 8" stub outs that the previous homeowner left, so I guess I'll use those.

How close to the laundry box should they be? If I "tee-n-elbow" them from the risers and they are 8" long, then they'll sit about 12" below the box?

Air chambers are best when above the fixture that they serve.

That makes sense I guess... never thought about it. Unfortunatly, I won't be able to do that in this particular situation, but will plan to in the future.

Is it worth it to put air chambers below the fixture? Is my situation worth it... cut into the riser 12" below the fixture and "tee & elbow" one vertical, right next to the riser?

Thanks for any advice!

That would be fine; any preventive measure taken in plumbing is a step in the right direction.
