Exclamation New Drain for Shower and Toliet

Hello all. I hope all is well. Okay I am ready to install my new shower drain and toliet drain in the basement. Here is my question. I have the drain from the shower connected to my trap, from there I have 9 1/2 feet of pipe which has the 1/4 picth per foot. At the end of the 9 1/2 feet 2 inch pipe, it is about 8 inches below where I need to connect it to the exsiting Cast Iron pipe. Here is my question. Can I install another trap to bring this waste pipe up to match the old drain pipe. Is this too much up slope for the water to drain. Can I install that second trap of just use a 90 y and take away from the pitch?? Please help. Thanks
Andy

re:

Okay, no two traps. Perfect, Thank you for the advice, that makes sense. I will took out the second trap and still have enough pitch to allow the water to drain, YES. :-)
Once last question on this matter. When I finish all the pipe work, how much dirt should I put back over the new pipe before I pour the concrete?

Thanks
Andy

Pack dirt around the pipe for support, any pipe that passes through the cement must be protected, and not directly embedded in cement.

Great, This is coming along great!
Okay, there is no set amount of dirt, or so many inches?
One last question. How much water do you recommned running thru the pipes to make sure it drains and does not leak. I was thinking about just running a water house down the drain for 10 minutes, just like a shower. I want to make sure it doesn't leak before I pour the cement?

Thanks again. You are awesome!! :-)
