Sealing Shower Recess

Sealing Shower Recess
On and off for several years we have had problems with water leaking through the shower recess into the wall behind. Three times we have dug out the grout and regrouted. The last time we were advised to mix the grout not only with water but 75% bondcrete and 25% water, after this was done, my husband sealed over the tiles and grout with Shower Coat, he applied two coats, then we waited 48 hours before using the shower, but we have noticed that it seems to be still leaking. We had noticed rust holes around the drain in the bath and he has sealed this with 'Knead It' - a water resistent product that can be easily moulded and shapped but after an hour dries like ceramic. We can not seem to find any external reason for the leak, and yet two plumbers have told us, we do not have a water leak in any pipe. We are at a loss as to how to fix it or what to do now. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

re:
I am not an expert by all means, but I have had the same problem. In my situtaion is was the Shower Pan. I had to complelty dig out the shower and redo the Shower Pan. This fixed the problem. In my case the weep holes were plugged and the water was running inbetween the pre-pan and the shower pan. It was a mess but after I redid the whole shower, it never leaked again. Kind of sounds like that. Like I said, I am not an expert but have had this same sort of problem.
Hope that Helps

Thank You Andy - All of that sounded very scary, but certainly worth remembering. We had a plumber come in today, and we could not believe it was just the washers. A pressure test proved there was a leak, he reseated the taps and put new washers in first, and it seems to of fixed the problem. I really don't know why we never thought of it before - such a simple thing.
Thank you for your advice.
