Shower problem

I want to replace the shower head with a hand held shower massage, to do so, I need to remove the nipple coming out of the (tiled) wall.

The problem is, it doesn't want to budge. It's chromed, is it possible that it's soldered into a fitting?

I have always thought these to be threaded, so they should just unscrew.

The house was built in '79, anybody know if there are chrome nipples that are for solder joints?

Did you remove the shower head off the shower arm?

Does the new shower head come with a new arm, or does not the new shower head connect to the existing shower arm?

Both will unscrew.

Yes the shower head removes, it has the 'bulb' on the end, I need a threaded end for the new shower head to connect to.

I'm concerned about creating a big problem, like breaking the arm off at the connection in the wall or some other situation that would be far too much trouble and expence to rectify.
