tank lid

Hello Folks, I read in a previous post about a universal toilet tank lid to replace a broken one. I tried HD,Lowes and a local plumbing supply store. No Good. Does anyone have any info on this?? Or somewhere online to buy it. Thanks in advance for your help!! Eric

The only replacement tank lids that I am aware of come from 2 sources -- a bone yard at a plumbing supply, and somebody's woodshop.

Lids are made to fit a given tank, and all of the tiolet mfgrs. shape their tanks differently. I'm not aware of any "universal" lids.

There are plastic replacement lids made by Fluidmaster that basically oversized and just butt ugly on most tanks.
There are composite lids available from Century Supply for most new 1.5 gal tanks.
The old stlye 3.5 gal and 5 gal tank are out of luck. If you need this type, check with many different plumbers in your area and ask if they have lids.

Good luck in your project and I hope this helps...
