musty smell from shower drain
We have a second floor shower that we haven't used in several months. Yesterday I ran a quick shower and today there is a very musty odor coming from the drain. What is the best way to sanitize the drain pipe and trap?

Use a non-caustic, enzyme-based drain cleaner such as DrainCare.
It won't harm the shower surface, fixtures or pipes, but will eat out all organic gunk, hair, etc. and odor-causing algae.
You run warm water into the drain, pour in DrainCare, let it eat overnight, and then flush it with very hot water the next day.
You may have to use it more than once.
Just follow the directions on the jug. Works like a charm.
