wall mount faucet

I'm trying to install a new wall mount faucet on my kitchen sink. The problem is that I can't get the backplates from the old one off. Any suggestions? Thank you.

there is a special tool that you need to unscrew this fitting. I use a seat wrench. just look inside and you will see a small square about 5/16" or so. then go to your local hardware and see if they carry a tool like that.

Now I've got another problem. The new faucet doesn't fit properly over the holes in the cast iron sink. The holes are bigger than those found on modern sinks. I cannot resuse the old backplates because they don't fit the new faucet. Any suggestions as to where I can buy a faucet or backplates that fit?
