water filter

Am going to put in a water filter to filter the water for the whole house.....I know that it will go in front of the water softener...should help, as we do have hard water.....have looked at Home Depot...Lowes and others....the main product that they carry is Omnifilter....am going to look to get a 1"..so I know that I will get good flow through the filter and for the house......any other products out there that could do as well or better......

all thumbs1:

More questions need to be answered.

Is your water a well or municipal, is your softener in good operating condition, do you drink the softened water, how many in your household, what do you hope to accomplish with a filter?
