Kitchen Faucet Help!?

I just installed a new kitchen faucet and am having some problems. The faucet is this model (http://glacierbayfaucet.com/833110.html). The problem I am having is that at times when turning it on (either towards hot or cold) there is a loud 'bump' sound and you can feel the faucet move just a bit. The faucet has been in less than a week and the movement has caused the nuts holding it to the sink to loosen! Is there any explanation for this problem and can anyone help with advice on correcting it? We live in an old apartment building (built 1901) on the 5th floor and the building has installed a booster pump to increase the water pressure to the upper units. Could the pressue have anything to do with this?

Thanks for any suggestions.

Steve

Check for high water pressure on the house, this could also be loose washer on one of the shut off valves under the sink, or could be a defective faucet. you have to explore all these areas to find out.

Thanks for the suggestions. What would be considered 'high' pressure? Also, in what way(s) might the faucet be defective?

Thanks,

Any pressure over 60 PSI is high. A pressure gauge and a hose bib adapter can be used to check the pressure.
Try turning the faucet on very slowly and see if the noise disappears. If it goes away test the pressure. if it still makes noise, look for another case besides pressure.
