frozen pipes
My water supply pipe is frozen....Have a well and outdoor "pumphouse"...
Froze last weekend as well but was able to thaw using a kerosene fired
garage heater. Last three days single digit weather. No weather relief
until tomorrow maybe Sunday....Had added extra insulation and sealed all
cracks in pumphouse......Should I open a faucet shut off the well pump and wait ?
Please help, any info greatly appreciated....

Do you have any continuous source of heat in your pumphouse?
Open an inside faucet, thaw the pump out again with that kerosene heater, and put a heat lamp in the pump house for a continuous source of heat there.
You should be able to easily find an inexpensive clamp-on fixture with a metal reflective hood, screw a red heat lamp into it, and plug it in inside the pumphouse, or run a drop cord, if necessary.
(Hopefully, the pump head or any pipes aren't cracked.)
Good Luck!

Re : Frozen pipes
Thanks for the reply Old Guy....Yes I have an electric heater
in there running off a thermostat set @ 50 degrees. I checked that first...It is still giving off heat....I believe the pipe is frozen
where it comes up from the ground and through the slab the pumphouse is built on.....That's where I'm concentrating the
heat....thanks again...time to bundle up and check the heater !
