Another question... This big 3 story 5 bathroom house has low pressure to the upper story. Also we are having demand problems, i.e. you flush the toilet and the sink pressure drops. This is a beautiful 1910 house with more inlaid woodwork and lathe and plaster than I have seen in a while. We are trying to come up with a solution that doesn't involve tearing out walls to increase the diameter of the water lines to the upper story. Would adding a secondary cold water storage tank in the attic help with the pressure and demand problem? I have never done this type of intervention but in principle it seems like it might help. They already have a secondary hot water heater in the attic and it would be pretty easy to cut in a holding tank right next to it. Any suggestions?

I had a sumppump installed last year. It does a good job 95 percent of the time, but in real heavy rains I still get aprox 60 to 100 gallons on the oppisite side. I can take coare of it with a wet vac but i would like to put a stop to this. My gutters were frozen over the last tim this happened but even in the spring this will happen.
