kitchen faucet whistle & low pressure
#1

When we use our kitchen faucet with just the hot water on it will start to whistle as it gets hot. The pressure there is not as good as the rest of the house. As the water gets hot the pressure also drops, sometimes to just a trickle. The valves under the sink are turned on full. We just moved into this 14 year old house and had to replace the hot water heater the 1st week we moved in, so I really didn't notice if it was different before that change.

From the comment of "down to a trickle" to me that would signify severely diminished capacity on the hot water side of the mixing valve. While perhaps not the only solution, replacing the mixing valve {faucet unit} to me would be the surest way to alleviate the problem. I have tried "cleaning" mixing valves with limited success. Please let me know how it turns out.

I agree with what the other gentleman
said but try this as well.
turn the valve under the sink serving
the hot side only to the off position,
now turn on the hot only on the faucet,
if water comes thru this could mean
that the washer on the angle stop has
come loose as they commonly do and lodged itself in the supply tube creating a restriction and the whistle you are
getting.
