washing machine drain height
My son has recently purchased a fixer upper, and he would like to put his washing machine in the basement, but there is no floor drain. How high will a washing machine push water?? Could we plumb it into the bathtub drain above the washer?? Basement height is appox. 7 feet.

No. The maximum height a washing machine can pump is to the height of the top of the machine. Anything higher will cause problems and force the pump to work harder than what it was designed for.
