Kitchen sink strainer leak
#1

I have replaced my kitchen sink strainer but it always leaks after I'm done. I have used the putty correctly, and the rubber gasket and the friction ring and the lock nut, all in the correct order and tightened everything correctly but it never seems to work perfectly. What am I doing wrong?

The drain line may be pulling what you're making up out of alignment, or it could be over tightening things and squeezing the putty and gasket seal out just a hair. If it's a small leak, and all else is ok, try a little silicone caulk. Works for me.

look at the strainer very closely, alot
of times it will leak where you attach
the drain line to the strainer, there is
a plastic washer that goes there, wiggle
the drain where it connects to the strainer,
if there is play it will leak.also if you
can move the strainer it will leak.
