What is the difference between the white pvc pipe and the black pipe used for drainage? Are they interchangable as far as building codes? Why have I only seen the black used but yet, the white is more available?

the two pipes are interchangeable if
you use transition glue,and only prime the
pvc fittings and not the ABS,thats the black pipe.
there are 2 differences in the pipe.
1)the color
2)pvc is better,it is less brittle.
also ABS is not straight because of the way
it is extruded.
if you look at a 10 foot section you will
see it curve.
