installing bathroom sink

I'm having a hard time installing a pedastal sink.
Which do I do first? Attach the pipes or ancor the sink to the wall?

No, it didn't come with a bracket. Just the porcelean.

inaccessable kitchen drain leak

The 2 inch drain line from my kitchen sink/dishwasher suddenly developed a major leak under the floor in the crawl space. I can find no access to this space, but can peer in through a ventilation screen about 15 feet away and see the water pouring out onto the soil. The leak is so bad that from my kitchen I can hear it pouring into a puddle. There is a cleanout down by the foundation outside and below the sink which presents a straight shot toward the leak, which is maybe 3 feet inside of the foundation. My question is whether there is anything that could be done from the outside, such as inserting a long sleeving pipe through the cleanout that might bond to the broken pipe to patch it? The only alternative I can see is to provide access by removing a section of flooring in the kitchen or jackhammering out a section of the foundation. I think it is iron pipe (the cleanout and the fittings I can see near the ventilation screen are either iron or steel). The house is a California ranch about 50 years old. In the past few months I have had a series of blockages in this line that I cleaned out by using the garden hose/pressure bladder technique through the cleanout - perhaps this caused my leak.Read More

Moen faucet cartridge

I've got a Moen Chateau single faucet in my bathroom that's been dripping/leaking for a while, so I got a new one at Lowes to replace it (whether it's part #1200 or 1225 is another story, since it's unclear what the difference is unless it's brass vs. plastic). I finally got around to it because I'd been having trouble removing the old one until I found this ([url]http://www.moen.com/Consumer/products/FAQs/FAQtmpl_5.cfm?QID=18[/url]) on the Moen website that says you have to use their little plastic tool that comes with the replacement to turn the cartridge 90 degrees right, then 90 degrees left and then pull it out with pliers. Finally, the secret! However, after I did so, it pulled out about half an inch and won't budge. I don't want to damage the entire assemble by pullling too hard, but I've put some force into it and no dice. I also tried pulling while slowly turning it back and forth as well. Now not only can I not get the original cartridge out (it slides right back in so I can reassemble the faucet) but it's turned a little to the left of its original position so I've got a constant stream of water coming out even when the knob is in the shut position.
