low water pressure
#1

In my upstairs shower I don't have any hot water pressure. The cold water is fine and the hot water pressure in the sink faucet in the same bathroom is fine. In the shower, the further I turn on the hot water faucet the less pressure there is. Plus the hot water doesn't get hot unless the faucet is all the way on (when the pressure is the lowest)! What is the problem???

the handles sticking out of the wall are
connected to the valve behind the wall.
there may be an access panel in a closet
that backs up to the shower, this is where you gain access, you may even have shut off's
for the valve behind the panel if one exists.
alot of times you can take the valve apart
from the front side after killing the water supply, depending on the type valve you have,
single lever,two or three handle,delta,moen
price phister kohler etc..
a little more info please

we'll have to do this a step at a time.
Do you have copper water piping in the
wall behind the shower feeding it or
silver colored galvanized piping?
anyway it sounds like maybe you can replace the springs and seats in the valve body.
how do you divert the water up to the shower,
do you lift a knob at the end of the tub spout(if this is in a tub)or is there a button you push or pull under the handle
where you turn the water on?
