shower mixer

I'm trying to replace my shower mixer valve, there is no access from the back as it is on an outside wall. It appears I'll have to dis-mantle the entire tub wall. Are there any tips or tricks to this job?

i've asked other q's about this t/t on other subjects. now i'm building a combo stool & shower, question, is there a toilet flange that will also let the shower drain as well. there are no holding tanks, so it is going straight into the septic.

The shower arm in our shower fits only male ended shower heads. We have to use an adapter for any standard shower head to attach. This morning, there was a huge leak from behind the ball joint on the shower arm. How do I correct this? I have been unsuccessful in finding a shower head that will attach to this arm that I have. Can I just replace the arm? Please help!!! Thanks in advance, Brandi
