drain for new bathroom sink

I am adding a new bathroom on an existing slab. The sink will be located on an existing cement block wall that backs up to the laundy room. Can I run the drain though the block, along the inside wall of the laundry room and out to the existing lateral? Or do I have to trench the slab on the new bathroom side? The inspector's in my town hate homeowners who do the work themselves...even with the right permits.

That solely depends on the state you reside in, the city requirements, the inspector themselves.

Any info given would be speculative, and without knowing your local codes, it is impossible to direct you to the right answers.
