no heat!

I have gas heat and have the thermostat at around 90 degrees but I'm lucky to get the room temp to be 50 degrees. I heard something about air being in the pipes, but if not this, what could it be??? Please help.

I have hot water heat and the boiler will fire up but only for a few seconds and then shut off. When we had the home inspection, about a month ago, the heat worked fine. We got a hole in a pipe, fixed and no heat since. What is really odd is now there is some heat upstairs and no, I mean no, heat downstairs. HELP.

When the hole was repaired its very possible the complete system wasnt bled completely and as a result, you have air in the lines. Another good possibility is the high limit switch is defective, this could cause the boiler to only come on for a short while. These are only two possibilities. There could be other reasons instead of these or as well as these. Good luck! Is your boiler gas or oil fired?
