I have a pressure relief valve and I would like to increase the pressure to my house a little. How do I do this? Do I turn the big screw at the top of the valve? If so, what direction? Do I do something else? Please help. Thank you!

Kit,
The pressure relief valve is that thing comming out of your hot water tank. Your water pressure regulator is the one with the bolt and nut on top. By turning the bolt counter clockwise, you will increase your water pressure. You might want to check and see what you pressure is now, before playing with the regulator. Most hardware stores carry inexpensive guages that screw onto your outdoor hose faucet.Just screw on the guage and turn in the water.in most areas approx.55lbs of pressure is sufficient. Dont overdo the pressure! You can actually blow faucet washers, etc. if pressure is too much. Also understand that water pressure and water volume, are two different things.Good luck!
