Air Pressure while capping

I'm reworking some copper piping in my home, and want to cap a former run. Air pressure is building and pushing the cap off the heated flux before I can sodder it. Any ideas to resolve this? I'm using MAPP gas.

Is there no valve you can open up ???? Wet rag's on the rest of the pipe close by it and get the heat on fast and get off it . Thats why we use a turbotorch all the time . Put heat only to the cap. some one else with a punch and the point to help hold it on ??

No one available to hold it, but the wet rag seems like a good idea. What I did do was open all valves around the house to ensure no held water. That failed. Next I put white bread in the pipe to hold back water and curious if pressure would reduce. Whichever helped, that worked. I did as you suggested too, ensuring only to heat the cap and work quickly.

No leaks. Thanks
