Question Brown & green water leaking from bathtub spout

I have some brown and green water/slime leaking from my bathtub spout where it connects to the wall. Does anyone know what this is and what I can do to fix it? Any info is appreciated. Thanks!

Brown, orange/brown red t overy dark brown/black etc. would say iron or IRB (iron reducing bacteria). Maybe manganese reducing bacteria too. Green usually says copper from copper tubing or.... algae. Bacteria produce slime.

I suggest a good water analysis by a water treatment dealer.

My very first thought with your discription is a slow leak and all kinds of goodies growing on the wall around the tub spout.

I'd replace the stems and seat on the tub faucet just to see if the moisture dries up, then we can attack the discoloration.
