Tankless Hot Water Heaters
#1
I am considering changing my 40 gallon hot water tank to a tankless one. I want to hear from people that have done this and what their opinions are. I spoke with a guy that has a radio talk show on the weekends about this. His show is about renovations and is an energy consultant. He said that I would have to have one of these in every room that I have water. He said that they are not energy efficient either. I was under the impression that that were very energy efficient because they just come on upon demand. I had never heard that you need to have more than one. Especially since my home is only 1200 square feet. Please give me some feedback. I also would like to know which brand that anyone has purchased and what your opinion is of that brand.

Some friends of ours have a tankless hot water system in their home. Their place is maybe around 1000 s.f., maybe 900 s.f. They have only one. They have a large kitchen, a bathroom, a powder room area, and a laundry area. All of these areas are completely separate areas - they are all in separate rooms. And they have only one tankless hot water system.

I forgot to mention that the brand name of that tankless hot water system is Monitor. I believe he said they aren't made any more. But you might check with Toyostove because they make heaters that are similar to Toyostove heaters (maybe they also make the tankless hot water system?). Also, my uncle recently sold one that was still in the box so maybe there are other people out there with theirs still in the box? Hope this helps!
