Question Washing Machine in basement w/ only drain fixture at ground level

Does anyone know of any solutions for a washing machine in basement with no drain in basement...the person living here before has a flex hose running vertically about 5 feet to the drain pipe on main floor...the washer obviously does not drain properly...are there any solutions other than digging a hole in my basement for proper plumbing?

Yes,they make a little pump pit that actually sits above ground. Its like a sump pump in a 5 gallon bucket with a sealed lid.You still need acsess to a drain line above head,or you can go out the wall and tie into your sewer line.

OK I see you have a drain pipe so it would be no prob.I dont know the codes in your area but in some cases around here the inspectors will let you do a separate vent into the drain also. You will need to vent this.
