Question

any one have an idea on how to remove a piece of broken shower head that is in the female fitting that is recessed in the shower wall ?

Try an item called an easyout. Screw that into the female pipe as per the instructions, then back it out. This should remove the broken part.

You can ask at the hardware if there is an alternate tool or device for this type of job while your there also.

With some luck you may also be able to back it out with a small chisel or screwdriver but this can be tricky. I have been successful at this but it does take patience...hahaha

If the extractor does not work take a hacksaw blade and cut the broken piece inside the pipe, cut deep enough though the threads but not to deep, cut in about 4 places, then with a pick, you should be able to remove the broken threads out of the female adaptor in the wall.
