frozen shower diverter seat
#1
I need to replace the seat for my shower diverter valve. The seat is corroded and my seat wrench is just stripping the brass seat.
I have a map gas torch but don't want to start a fire.
I have done some heating and used liquid wrench but no go.
anyone have a suggestion ?
I'm all ears - got tools .
Short of opening wall ?
Thanks in advance.

Looks like it might be time to open the back wall and replace the valve.
Striped seats are a pain and it may not even come out of there.
One ither thing you can do besides replacing the valve is leave it in the tub spout position and install a diverter spout to divert the water to shower when need.
But then again this may not work either since there are two closed position on the diverter tub/shower handle.
