Any ideas how to get rid of this joint (non-destructively)?
The snap cutter (or anything beyond the sawzall) won't fit inside the joists, and I need to save the vent on the left so that I can attach the fernco.
I want to replace the whole lot with PVC.
Could I melt the lead oakum with a solder torch enough to just dismantle peacefully? That dripping on the floor would be the least of my worries.
Your feedback is much appreciated.

I don't know about anyone else, but I'm getting a "This page is not available" from Geocities when I click on the link.
Other than that, I can't help you--but hopefully someone can!

Sorry, but I think the html tags on this site screw up the link....
You'll probably need to cut and paste this link to view:

Thanks for looking at the link and for any suggestions you can provide!
