septic backup
#1

I came home tonight and found the downstairs
bathroom was flooded. The bathtub was filled
with sewage, and the toilet had overrun also.
When my wife flushed a toilet upstairs, and
I was cleaning up the mess, it started backing up more. I take it that my septic tank is not working properly...What do I need to do???? HELP!!!!!

You need to have the septic tank looked at and maybe needs pumped, call a septic company and have them come check this out, make sure they can also clean the line, no since in call two different companys, one for septic and one for drains, cheeper if you call one that can do both.

Thank you very much for the incredibly quick response. Please tell me what a fair price for draining a septic tank and snaking a pipe
might be. I live in Georgia.<HR>
This will very, call and get estimates.

Here in Coastal NC, it costs $125 to have a 1,000-gallon septic tank pumped out, and maybe up to $50 more to have the drain snaked. It will vary, of course, but that is a ballpark. Hopefully, your problem is a drain blockage, and not with the septic system itself. You should pump tanks out every 5 years for maintenance, anyway, to keep the sludge from blocking up your drainfield lines, etc. Good Luck!
